Kubernetes Fundamentals

Three days, one cluster per participant: understand Kubernetes by deploying real applications, not by watching slides.

Objectives

  • Deploy, expose, and update an application on a cluster
  • Read a YAML manifest and understand what it declares
  • Debug the common failures: ImagePullBackOff, CrashLoopBackOff…
  • See where Kubernetes ends and where the rest of the ecosystem begins

Audience

Developers, ops, and teams joining a Kubernetes environment with no prior experience of the orchestrator.

Prerequisites

  1. Know the basics of containers — a Docker introduction is enough
  2. Comfort in a terminal
